On the occasion of the presidency of the European Union and the 20th anniversary of Hungary's EU membership, our Embassy organized a classical music concert on October 21, 2024. The guests of honour at the concert were the Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat and Csaba Lantos, Minister for Energy of Hungary. Professor Balázs Gulyás, president of the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network was also present, together with local decision makers, members of the diplomatic corps and members of the Hungarian community. In her welcoming speech Ambassador Judit Pach emphasized that the concert, which takes place within the framework of the Hungarian Month, is part of our broader endeavor to bring Hungarian culture and arts closer to Singapore. The biggest star of the concert was the legendary Plácido Domingo, whose performance remained a secret until the start of the concert.

The Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA) is launching a call for applications for its Future Leaders Program for young researchers and recent graduates in international relations, from Hungary and abroad. The fellowship, which is conducted in English, will run from October 1, 2024, through January 31, 2025 (in person through late December and online in the final month).
